WHAT IS DIVINATION?
Divination or “to be inspired by God” or “know the will of God” refers to the practice, technique or ritual used to foretell the future and determine hidden significance of events by transcending the physical to access the spirit world. By nature, man wants to know what the future holds in order to predict events, offer direction and avoid danger. Ancient tools can be used to interpret signs and decode omens to help determine the best path forward to achieve the best results. Some of the most popular practices include, Numerology, I-Ching, Palm and Tarot Card Reading.
NUMEROLOGY
Numerology is any belief in the divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events. It is also the study of the numerical value of the letters in words, names, phrases and ideas. The repetition, coincidence and synchronicity of certain numbers have been studied for thousands of years in different cultures but is most prominent in Kabbalah (Jewish Mysticism) where words have numerical values The hebrew alphabet assigns numerical values to each letter (Aleph =1, Bet = 2, etc). This is also known as Gimaria, Words with the same numerical value are related. Also, many believe that the the appearance of 11:11 is related to the Tetragrammaton - the unpronounceable 4 letter name of God
I-CHING
The I Ching or Yi Jing translated from Chinese as “Book of Changes” refers to a collection of ancient Chinese divination texts divided into 64 chapters/hexagrams. These images consist of 6 lines of broken or solid lines. In addition to poetry, philosophy and beautiful images, the I-ching serves as a guidebook on the workings of the universe, how to live an ethical life, instructions for leaders to govern equitably, the future of the state as well as an oracle of an individual’s path going forward.
PALM READING
Also known as palmistry or chiromancy, palm reading is one of the oldest divination tools where one can analyze the physical features of the hand, positioning and length of the lines and creases to interpret personality characteristics and predict the future.
TAROT CARDS
Tarot cards date back to 14th century Italy and are one of the most popular divination tools with more than 7,000 known decks each with 78 cards. While the artistry may differ, the eschatological code is the same with Major Arcana (trump cards) and Minor Arcana (suit cards).
WHERE DID DIVINATION ORIGINATE?
From the earliest stages of civilization, people have used various means of divination to communicate with the supernatural when seeking help in their public and private lives. Divination is most often practiced as a means of analyzing one’s personality, foretelling the future, and explaining the past. Diviners can be seers, priests, priestesses or shamans, who are given special gifts and are specially trained in the practice and interpretation of their divinatory skills. Since the beginning of humanity, man sought to understand the universe, his place in it and to gain insight to predict the future. By transcending the earthly plain, man sought to realize the will of the gods for his own benefit.
HOW TO PRACTICE DIVINATION
With the intention of knowing thyself and predicting the future, there are numerous divination tools and practices that can be employed to gain a better understanding of one’s personality, strengths, weaknesses, influence of physical stature and past events. With the goal of revealing how best to use the current situation, he/she can actualize their potential in this lifetime. One can use the tools and practice on their own or work with gifted seers to answer questions and provide direction to the best path going forward

In addition to predicting the future, divination is an instrument of self knowledge and can be used to reveal what is hidden allowing people to excavate their true nature and purpose. By tapping into a higher realm to receive guidance, one is able to make better decisions in the present to ensure a better future.
