Fears
A Kabbalistic story tells of a messenger and a King. When the king sends a messenger to someone, the messenger may encounter delays and obstacles that cause him to deliver the message in an angry voice but this does not mean the king is angry. Nor does it mean the recipient should focus on the tone of the messenger rather than the content of what he says.
Our fears are really just messengers. Regardless of their explicit content, their ultimate purpose is to reveal the specific way our personal lack of trust in the Creator is manifest. If we trusted in the Creator, after all, how could we be afraid?
The solution to fear, therefore, is certainty in the Creator's love and power.
Sounds easy but it is not.
At times where you experience fear, remember the good, remember the last miracle you saw and connect to it. Let it help build your certainty and know that building certainty is the nature of our spiritual work. In this sense, fear is a wake up message to bring us back to the Creator.
